Where is Mt. St. Helens?


Known as "the Fuji of America", Mt. St. Helens is located in Washington state 90 miles south of Seattle, Washington and 65 miles from Portland, Oregon. The exact coordinates for St. Helens are 46.20 degrees North (latitude), and 122.18 degrees West (longitude). Mt. St. Helens is located on the Juan de Fuca plate which is a subduction boundary where oceanic crust subducts under continental crust. Being the most active volcano is the United States, Mt. St. Helens is part of the Cascade Mountain Range. The picture above is from Google Earth.
